UNRWA's statement said that the agency continues to provide emergency education and psychosocial support to children in Gaza, and that this is "a ray of hope for children."

The statement emphasized that the difficulties in Gaza, which is under Israeli attacks, are extremely great, and that "approximately 660 thousand children cannot go to school due to the war in Gaza."

It was reported that temporary education activities in Gaza have been seriously affected since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18 and resumed its attacks.

It was noted that the Israeli army's displacement of civilians in Gaza has further prevented Gazan children from accessing urgently needed mental health support and recreational activities.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deepening by the day
Israel has stopped humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip as of March 2, following the end of the 42-day first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement with Hamas.

The Israeli army's attacks since October 7, 2023 have displaced approximately 2 million people in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of 2.3 million. Israel, which has also targeted civilian infrastructure and hospitals, has caused a humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

The cutting off of water and electricity supplies to the region and the closure of border gates are further deepening the difficult conditions experienced by Palestinians in Gaza.

Following the ceasefire that went into effect in the Gaza Strip on January 19, the Israeli army resumed its violent attacks on the morning of March 18.

Since the Israeli army resumed attacks, 2,326 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women and children, have lost their lives and 6,050 people have been injured.

In the attacks carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinians who have lost their lives has increased to 52,418, and the number of injured has increased to 118,091.
