The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced in a post on the social media platform X that more than 1.4 million Syrians have returned to their homes after years of displacement.

The post emphasized that these returns are promising, but it is not an easy process for Syrians to rebuild their lives. It also drew attention to the fact that families need serious support in basic areas such as shelter, health, education and livelihood.

The UNHCR called on the international community to make greater contributions to support Syrians who are trying to start their lives over again.
